Oh so tempting to get the Pilot --- but I do want a little more weight capacity. I think I am going to keep my wallet closed until after I see what shows up at NAB. I would say that the Flyer LE is a fine rig, and that the lower spar is not as much of a problem as people sometimes imagine. I had been watching B&H and thought they'd raised their prices. A used pilot just sold for $3200 up on ebay and the unit was off warranty. Guessing somebody didn't know the prices had dropped. Agreed, and judging from casual dinner conversations at the Eastern Classic Workshop, a potential Flyer update does seem to be on Tiffen's radar...but of course they are characteristically tight-lipped about what it might entail and when/if it might be introduced. |
