I'm wondering what's up for Steadicam this year as well. I noticed a price drop on the Pilot at B&H:

Steadicam | Pilot-AA Camera Stablization System | PILOT-AA | B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/494659-REG/Steadicam_PILOT_AA_Pilot_AA_Camera_Stablization_System.html)

Add it to your cart and you'll see a price of $3,499.95!

Oh so tempting to get the Pilot --- but I do want a little more weight capacity. I think I am going to keep my wallet closed until after I see what shows up at NAB. I really hope Tiffen comes up with a new Flyer version (for around the same price as the current model)

I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't have any inside info. I would say that the Flyer LE is a fine rig, and that the lower spar is not as much of a problem as people sometimes imagine.

It's workable, but given that the Pilot is less expensive and offers more balancing and configuration options than its larger brother, it's due for an overhaul.

I'm not sure most people know to click on add to cart on the pilot to see new price. I had been watching B&H and thought they'd raised their prices. A used pilot just sold for $3200 up on ebay and the unit was off warranty. Guessing somebody didn't know the prices had dropped.

Agreed, and judging from casual dinner conversations at the Eastern Classic Workshop, a potential Flyer update does seem to be on Tiffen's radar...but of course they are characteristically tight-lipped about what it might entail and when/if it might be introduced.
