Hi, my name is Chris and I'm a lifetime resident of the great state of Minnesota. I am gearing up to launch my own video production business starting around September 1st. I'm currently a software developer, but before that I was in radio for 12 years, both on-air and in management.

Video has been a near life-long hobby, with my first projects being created on a wind-up Kodak Brownie 8mm. I guess it's time to turn that passion into a livelihood. I'm going to continue to work as a contract software developer since that pays too good to leave behind.

My plan is to focus on business video - marketing/promotional, training, legal videos, etc. Perhaps weddings and events if I find a dependable employee to shoot the video and I'll edit it later. So I'm looking for any and all information I can find, since I'm smart enough to know I have a lot to learn!

On the personal side, I've been married to my lovely wife Vicki for 20 years and we have 10 (yes, 10) children.

Hello Chris and welcome aboard (H)DVinfo.net! Good to have you with us.
There are quite a few (ex) programmers / software developers who dabble
in video here (myself included).

All the best with your business!

Hey there Chris,
what part of Minnesota are you located in?
I'm an ex-Iron Ranger myself, enjoying the wonderful weather in Georgia.

Hi Jeff,

We're near Willmar, about 100 miles west of Minneapolis. We lived in Hibbing for a bit more than a year (1989-1990). Did you ever used to listen to WTBX? That's where I worked.

Howdy...I'm in Houston, TX now (d*mn, sure is HOT!), but was born on the Iron Range and grew up in the International Falls area.

Ten kids, eh? The bitter cold affects some people in amazing ways, eh! ;-)

Chris-
Hibbing? Oh yeAh. I'm from Coleraine (Greenway) myself. My good friend Jim Moore sold airtime for that station I believe.
Small world!

Welcome.
