I was in Iceland last week running some workshops and master classes. While there I threw together this little video about how I set up the camera to shoot the Northern Lights. Sadly the weather was pretty wild with almost a foot of snow on the first day and winds reaching over 60mph. If you watch the video make sure you stay to the end for a glimpse of me trying to do a piece to camera in a 60 mph blizzard!

Snowed yesterday but it's going to be in the 60's this weekend here in Atlanta. Glad winter is almost over for us!

Excellent and informative. What gain setting did you use for the northern lights?

0db gain when using the 64 frame shutter, which is my normal method, sometimes I use 3db or 6db with the 16 frame shutter when the Aurora is bright.
