When we first purchased our HMC-150 several months ago, editing the clips was a pain because of stuttering playback and such. So, we bought Neoscene, and all was good. Now, we've got a problem with Neoscene making incorrect clips, and the guys at Cineform are helping, but in the interim, I decided just to edit with the raw AVCHD clips(Adobe CS4). To my surprise, the clips are playing smoothly, even with the display set to High Quality. I guess Adobe made some enhancements in one of the myriad of updates that they've put out?

Yes, some improvements have been made!
I too used to have issues with editing AVCHD in Premiere Pro, but since downloading the update - it runs smoothly.

Well I must have missed the memo also. I just downloaded the latest CS4 updates and the playback in Premiere is sooo much better.

Now I am curious too.

I will try it tonight. I normally convert my clips to cineform first.

Premiere's update 4.2 introduced realtime playback on AVCHD. It's not perfect, it's got some issues, but the forthcoming CS5 promises substantial advancements beyond what 4.2 offers. 4.2 works with (at least) nVidia CUDA-enabled graphics cards.
