Mark Graham Bernard July 11th, 2005, 08:58 AM Hi Mark - naybe not in London . .but .. . http://fwdepot.com/thestore/product_info.php/products_id/405 You may be abvle to get them to "post" it to you? Grazie Mark Geiser July 11th, 2005, 09:10 AM Thanks for the link, checked it out and unfortunately they don't seem to do a 4 pin to 6 pin with the angle on the 6 pin.. Thanks anyway Mark Guy Cochran July 11th, 2005, 04:50 PM http://fwdepot.com/thestore/product_info.php/products_id/528 Mark Geiser July 11th, 2005, 05:18 PM The right angle is still on the 4 pin, I need it on the six pin, unless I'm missing something else on that page (it is late !!)) Mark Guy Cochran July 11th, 2005, 05:25 PM Ah you're correct. Most people are more worried about the fragile 4 pin getting bent and want the angle. The only 6 pin cables with R angle are 6-6 that I see on this page http://fwdepot.com/thestore/advanced_search_result.php?osCsid=bf715e484ec92fcb931734afd464121e&keywords=angle&osCsid=bf715e484ec92fcb931734afd464121e&x=0&y=0 Mark Whittle July 12th, 2005, 07:07 PM Mark, I bought my FS4 with the field kit. This came with a short cable with a straight 4 pin to right angle 6 pin, so they do exist, or maybe Focus gets them custom built. Mark Geiser July 13th, 2005, 02:16 AM Thanks Mark, i'll check with holdan the UK distributor.. Mark Graham Bernard July 13th, 2005, 02:58 AM Mark, I even emailed the US to see if anybody supports here . . well, if yah don't ask? .. . Grazie Mark Geiser July 13th, 2005, 10:16 AM Lets see what happens.. Thanks Richard Krider July 14th, 2005, 07:53 AM Found this in a post by Matt McEwen from Focus Enhancements "We do sell a 23" 6-4 pin FireWire cable (with a right angle on the 6-pin side). The part number is CBLA-0127-01." I could not find it on their web store but maybe you could contact them direct at 408-866-8300. hope this helps. edit: I did a web search for the part number and found that part number listed as a 6 to 6! Oh well, give them a call anyway. One came with my FS 4 but no part # I can find. Good luck. Mark Geiser July 14th, 2005, 10:40 AM Spoke to the UK supplier (who were very helpfull as usual) and they inform me that the right angled firewire cable is only supplied with the on-camera kit. But they are looking into sourcing that and a few other usefull part. Regards Mark Mark A. Foley July 31st, 2005, 05:56 AM Is the right angle plug the comes with the field kit available for seperate purchase? Will Kennedy August 24th, 2005, 05:38 PM This page may have the particular angled 6-pin you need http://www.ntcdistributing.com/products/fwangled.htm Graham Bernard August 24th, 2005, 11:38 PM What a brilliant company. Just emailed them for UK availability. Thank you for posting! MAGIC! - G Mark Geiser September 5th, 2005, 10:20 AM Thanks very much for the posting, indeed they do have the cable.. Any news on UK distribution from the last post. Mark Graham Bernard September 5th, 2005, 10:27 AM Nope! - No reply . . seesshhh... Grazie TingSern Wong September 18th, 2005, 11:05 PM Just saw this post. I think for me, the 4 pin bent at 90 degrees will be more useful. This because the distance between the XL2 body and the battery bracket holder does not have much clearance for me to insert the normal length 4 pin firewire in. I tried it last week - it went in - but was very tight (wedged between XL2 body and the metal bracket above it. I will have to do mail order for the http://www.ntcdistributing.com/products/fwangled.htm now. To folks in London - Why must you insist on UK distributor? Can't you just do mail order? Not everything can be found in UK :-). I should say - worse - for Singapore. Those exotic stuff that are only US made - I don't have a choice. Graham Bernard September 19th, 2005, 12:14 AM "Why must you insist on UK distributor?" Here are some of the "reasons": 1/- Wholesaler here might be able to swallow much of the customs and transport costs. 2/- A Dealer here might have other alternatives/variations I could go, feel, see and try and THEN pick 'n go. 3/- More chance of getting "returns" treated with urgency here in the UK. 4/- If the part is faulty I could invoke UK consumer law to back up any dealer issue.
