Is there a resource where you can check if the title for your production is already used?

I'm guessing you're doing a project for a cable network and they require a Title Search as part of your deliverables. You'll need to hire an attorney that specializes in that kind of work and for a fee they will render their "opinion" about the possibility of a lawsuit over your title.

I think it's a waste of production funds but if your client requires it then you have no choice.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) (http://www.imdb.com)

Good luck finding a title that hasn't been used. Sure, you don't want to go titling your movie "The Hurt Locker" but titles like "Run" or "Forgotten" have been used over and over, sometimes dozens of times.

OK guys, good info. I had no clue on where to look. So I'm guessing a media law lawyer is where I would need to go if I find this to be necessary?
