Dear Rafael,

We have a Canon HFs10 in our lab/nanoFlash testing area. We use this camera on a daily basis.

This is a very well respected camera.

What Vixia model do you have in mind.

Hi Dan,
I'm thinking of the Vixia HSF 100 (Legria in PAL land).
His 3 x 1/2'6 CMOS are very attractive.
I've been comparing all the well known brand, and is the bigger captor I found in any of them.
This camera have no internal memory (don't need it) and that make it cheaper than the HSF 10.
I'm building a kind of ultralight crane. That camera with the NANO will do the job. The price of the available POV cameras is crazy.
Best,
Rafael

I have a Canon Vixia HF11. I've done some captures with it to my XDR (via an AJA component to SDI). The captures look good. However, the footage recorded on the camera also look pretty good. Difference being, I can edit the XDR footage right away. Native footage needs a transcode first.

Also the major issues with this camera can't be fixed by the nano or XDR, namely the slow read / reset of sensor and the inescapable jello of fast motion.

For most stuff though, this is an awesome camera. I recently did a 2 cam web video with a high end HD camera and a Vixia HF11 as B Cam. The Vixia held its own and honestly you can't tell the difference between the Vixia and the high end cam.

Hi Aaron,
Sorry I've missed your post.
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
I need a camera that I can always carry with me and the Vixia (Legria) is my choice.
Cheers,
