I am sure this question gets asked allot so bare with me. I have been thinking about getting a "Pro" camera. I have narrowed it down to a couple of cameras. The Canon XL2, the DVX, and the new not yet out JVC DV-500. Now for what the camera will be used for. I plan to film hunting. Primarily predator calling and hunting. The distances that will be covered are from 500 yards to in close 20 yards. All will be in the wilderness.

I would also like recommendations on filters, lenses, and wide angle applications. Auto focus, speed and any other accessories that you would consider a must. I currently own a Canon Digital EOS Rebel with a few lenses. A 75mm to 300mm an 18mm to 65mm and finally a 28mm to 105mm.

The plan is to create a DVD for information and possibly for sales. I will use Media studio Vegas, sound forge studio for the editing, which I already own.

Since the distance is quite large I think the XL2 would be best, also because it
is the sharpest SD camera out there at the moment. Canon sells an extender
to futher increase the range of the 20x zoom you get with the camera.

P.s. I assume you meant Sony Vegas?

I second Rob's recommendation. As you already own a bunch of EF lenses the XL2 would be your first choice because you can use those lenses on the XL2 with the (optional) EF Adapter.

Apart from that it is a great camera.

EDIT: When you use EF lenses on the XL2 the Autofocus does not work! You have to focus manually.

My vote is for the XL2 as well.
