Hi again to everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying the heat. :)
My question is do they make Quick release plates for the XL-2? I currently use Really Right Stuff quick release plates on my 10D and would like to use the same tripod setup. ( Gitzo 1340 MKII ). Thanks in advance.
I did a search but didn't really find anything. I apologize if duplicate.

Canon makes one called the TA-100 but I don't think it will work on your existing head since it is designed for a Arca-Swiss plate unless you purchased a new video head.

You could use a generic Arca-Swiss plate, such as:

It seems a little odd that you would want to put a video camera on a ball head (assuming you have the arca-swiss or RRS ball head). Or did you mount a RRS clamp on a pan/tilt head?

In order to save a little money, I initially used a bogen 503 head on my photo tripod legs (both use a 3/8-16 thread). The hassle of swapping the ball and video heads got to me, as well as setup time, levelling hassles, and a little bit of leg-torque, and I finally got a nice set of video tripod legs with a bowl adapter to use with the 503. I'm much happier with the video setup under the camera.
