I wait to upgrade my 1.0 since I do not see a real advantage. But as written in those threads, upgrading an EX1 R (!) seems to be easily done by yourself with a SxS-card (and SDHC seems to work too)...

EX1R I bought version 1.0 and I installed the new version 1.1.
With version 1.0 we did not shoot more than 3 minutes in the S & Q MXM cards, I understand that the new version allows you to shoot the S & Q MXM cards without problems
