Thanks for the warm welcoming guys, I am from Christchurch!!! Yeah, I have already started looking and found a HUGE amount of Vegas info, which is higher than any other resource on the net!
Chris Hurd July 18th, 2005, 03:52 AM A Southerner, eh? Welcome aboard, Scott! Your country is at the top of my "most desirable places to visit" list.
Owen Dawe July 20th, 2005, 12:01 AM Another Kiwi. Good on yer mate!!!! I'm from Auckland. Say. Where's Christchurch? Never heard of it :)
Owen Dawe July 20th, 2005, 12:02 AM After the previous crack you'll probably write back and call me a JAFA!!! :)
Charles Papert July 20th, 2005, 12:04 AM Scott, a year later my girlfriend still dreams of our salmon dinner at "Cooking with Gas" in Christchurch...nice joint.
Lorinda Norton July 20th, 2005, 01:28 AM Hi Scott,
Vegas and NZ--I like you already! :) I say that because I use (and love) Vegas, PLUS Owen here is one of my dearest friends.
I'm saving up to visit NZ someday. After I give Owen a great big hug I'm going to find the place where they strap people in that huge ball and roll them down a hill. (What's that called again, Owen???) Sounds like a blast!
Have fun here, Scott, and welcome!
Owen Dawe July 20th, 2005, 02:52 AM Ooooh Lorinda. That was a sneaky one!
The place is Rotorua. The ball is a Zorb. They strap you in by your wrists and ankles. Throw in a bucket or two of water. Then, let you roll down a bumpy hill till you hit the bottom.
I tell ya though. A hug from me will give ya a bigger thrill!!!
Lorinda Norton July 20th, 2005, 03:14 AM A hug from me will give ya a bigger thrill!!!
LOL! Sounds like a promise to me!!
Hey, you never mentioned those buckets full of water before. That could get interesting... :)
Joe Carney July 20th, 2005, 01:12 PM LOL! Sounds like a promise to me!!
Hey, you never mentioned those buckets full of water before. That could get interesting... :)
So...It's a roll down the hill and a wet T-shirt contest at the same time. I'm impressed.
Lorinda Norton July 20th, 2005, 01:49 PM Hahahaha! That's hilarious, Joe! The Kiwis think of everything. :)
Say, what happened to Scott? We didn't mean to hijack your thread, mate!
John McCully July 20th, 2005, 05:16 PM Hello Scott
What a coincidence! As we speak I’m editing in Vegas some HDV footage I shot in Deans Bush couple of months ago when visiting the family, Kahu Rd. Riccarton where they live. You know; ducks, grandkids, the Cottage, trees, the incredibly green grass. I’m from Christchurch too but I was born in Temuka; bet nobody else here knows that little village. Now I’m living in central Mexico and like everyone else I’m writing a screenplay!
There is another forum here that you might also find useful. Not as good as this one (had to say that didn’t I) http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/forums/default.asp. Look for ‘Spot’. He knows a thing or two.
Cheers mate.
John
Chris Hurd July 21st, 2005, 01:39 AM Good call, John, but just in case ya didn't know, Spot's a moderator here too!
Scott Johnston July 21st, 2005, 01:55 AM Hey All,
Yeah Deans bush is a very cool place, there was a major fire there a while back.
