Hi guys - it's been a long day of trying to figure this one out ... been working on a project that won't display in the timeline and preview window consistently. Though I've managed to finish editing the raw footage, I'm having trouble rendering out an AVI or MPEG-2 of the file as well.

It's a 45 minute school performance I shot using my Sony HVR-V1U camera and HVR-MRC1 compact flash recorder set to capture in DV mode. The source files were split by the recorder into two segments, each 3-4 GB in size. I used Sony's transfer utility to transfer the DV files onto my eSATA hard drive, then I opened a new Vegas project (NTSC DV Widescreen settings). I dragged the video files onto the timeline and that's when the problems began. The audio can be heard throughout the entire performance, but the timeline only shows waveforms for the first 7-8 minutes ... it's a straight line after that. Video in the preview window intermittently disappears, leaving only black. Sometimes it will display, and other times it won't. After closing the program several times during the day, I was able to get my editing done - but now I'm having trouble rendering the project for a DVD. About 7-8 minutes into the render, the preview window goes black, as does the screen in the rendered file.

I'm running Vegas 9.0c on a 64-bit Vista PC (Core i7, 6GB RAM). Am I having a codec issue, a memory issue, or something else? Please help - thanks!
