What type of Boom-mic do you recommened to be used for shooting movies and television serials and programs? What is the model type and which offers you the best quality and how many of them do we need to shoot a feature film with?

Generally boom mikes are either hypercardoid or short shotguns. A lot of theatrical and broadcast productions also use very small lavaliere mikes hidden on the talent along with wireless microphones. Brands with top of the line credentials include Schoeps, Sennheiser, Sanken, AKG. "How many" is a difficult question as it depends on the situation.

Hamad, if you hire an audio recordist/sound person they will almost always have their own equipment (except for wireless mics, which can be rented). I would look at hiring someone to handle your sound, in which case you do not need to worry about which boom mic to get.

How many audio people you need depends on what you are shooting. If you have shots with lots of speaking talent in them, you should get one or two more audio people for those particular scenes.

There probably aren't too many audio folks in Bahrain. I could be wrong.

When I freelanced in the Minneapolis market, the mic of choice seemed to be the Sennheiser M416. Its a workhorse.

Sheops mics are better imho.

Nuemann's are awesome- and so is the price!

It sort of depends on how much you can spend and the situation it's used in. I think Glen had the right idea though- you can hire an audio person, and they'll usually have their own gear.
