Following several threads in this area over the last few weeks, I have decided to ditch my remote mic transmitters that I have been having trouble with, and have been looking at the smallest audio recorder to fit in the groom's suit pocket.

My H2 is too big, but today I was told about a new recorder that will be in Australia in a few weeks.

It's tiny, but although it only records up to 44.1K and not 48K to match my video, it looks like it will fit the bill. Very economical too.

Here's the link. ESI - Rekord M (http://www.esi-audio.com/products/rekordm)

Cheers,

Vaughan

I think you'll find the Olympus WS-400S at a cheaper price, I use 3 of them for weddings (paranoid about audio)

They Olympus WS-520M will record PCM and MP3.

The 500 and 510 will do MP3 with a firmware upgrade, but not PCM.
The Mp3 can be 256kbps @ 44k

I found it worked quite well. The 500 has a 2gb int storage and can record over 12hrs at 256kbps MP3 mode.
I used a powered omni lapel mic.

Also I plugged it into the sound board at the reception hall for the speeches.

Small an unobtrusive. I elastic the cords to the recorder so they can't come undone.
