Mini DV tapes are a lot cheaper in bulk, just wondering if the forum ever does a group buy.

I'm in for 15-20 Sony DVM60PR or similar.

Yes, I know they're cheap, but maybe they could be even cheaper.

Just go to your local Costco or Sams Club and you can get them in 10-packs for just over a dollar a piece.

How much cheaper do you want them really?

Here at Costco they are over $2.00 per tape for the Sony blue packs. They don't carry the Sony Red packs.

Wow, I'm old... I remember paying $22 each for Sony DVM60PRs back in 2000/2001...

We thought we had struck gold after paying $30 for 30 minute BetaSP tapes...

Probably not; some of their stuff is online only, some of it is in store only.

Call them to find out for sure.

Sony DVM60PRL Mini DV Tape 60min Premium Data Cartridge 20 Packs - SuperMediaStore.com (http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/sony-minidv-60-minute-dvm60prl-minidv-tape-20pk)

$2.65 each

Sign up for their coupon promotions and they are often less than that.

For Panasonic PQ tapes, this place is hard to beat:

B&H $2.15 a piece for 10-50, under $2 if you are buying 200.
