Hey guys, I am a filmmaking student. I was looking to rent a Canon XL2 from either the Nashville area or Atlanta. I would prefer Nashville because it's closer, but I can willing to drive to Altanta.

Here is what I want to do. I want to film a visual effects heavy short film for my final college project. However, I would need the camera for a weekend. I would need it Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.

I was wondering if you guys knew of places I could rent this camera and perhaps even get a student discount. You guys know of any places?

Daniel, I live in Atlanta. I know Showcase Camera and Video at 2323 Cheshire Bridge Road 404-325-7676 (800-886-1976) rents them. Ask for Kenny in video. Bob

Excellent, Bob. Thank you. I guess I will have to go to Atlanta. I can't find one in Nashville

Daniel,
I live in Nashville and just bought a XL2. I'm a freelance producer looking for young talent to help me shoot a documentary for Public Television. If you know how to use the Xl2 ...we can trade some camera time for you helping me to shoot my project. Let me know if you're interested.

There are several XL2's in Nashville.

We have one ourselves but are using it extensively right now. We may make it available for rental later this year.

In the meantime you can contact Armanda Costanza. They are an outstanding rental house with a great bunch of equipment. Very professional and extremely helpful.

Ha ha, no, I didn't go to Atlanta already. I won't be shooting this student film for another 2-3 months. Just checking my options. Maryann, what type of documentary will you be shooting?

Also, David, about what time of the year do you think you will be renting out the XL2?

Daniel,

I live in Nashville and have an XL-2 that I rent out from time to time. If you are interested let me know. If you need a cam op or just some extra help I could make you a deal on the camera and the p.a. for a relatively low price.
