I was just wondering -- if you were gonna do an overcrank shoot of 30fps to 24fps, would you recommend a shutter speed of 60 or 50..?

View Full Version : Shutter speed for overcrank..? Both will work. Personally, I would use 1/60 to be a 180 degree purist - unless you are shooting in a 50 Hz country under fluorescent lights. In that case, use 1/50. By the same token, shoot at 1/60 in the US under fluorescent lights at both 24 and 30p. Based on this, I typically use 1/60 when I shoot 30 fps for overcrank. But one great thing about the 5D vs. film: it's free to test! Good luck-- |
