Can't get compressor to work in fcp so I output to h.264, but now dsp won't recognize it? How can I handle this?

Why are you trying to bring h.264 into DVDSP? If you're trying to make an SD DVD, bring over a reference file with your Timeline's settings. If you're trying to make an HD-DVD (NOT BluRay!) on DVD, make sure you're using the correct h.264 settings.

Hi and thanks for your reply. I'm trying to make sd dvd. The video was shot in avchd and converted through voltaic to .mov file. the original is too large for a dvd and I was trying to export through a codec that would shrink it.

The only format that a DVD-Video can contain is MPEG-2.

If you can't export DIRECTLY from FCP (I'd be curious to find out why...), Export the timeline in question as a Reference Movie using Current Settings and open that file in Compressor and then choose a DVD compliant MPEG-2 setting and Submit.

The file is about 12gb. How do I take it direct from timeline? Compressor won't open, due to background activity not being able to function.
