Yikes... I just accidentally formatted a 32GB Kingston CF card in my 7D before backing up the footage. Is it possible to recover the video files that were on there?

Please help!

There are different data recovery solutions out there for windows and mac. From a windows perspective, I've used GetDataBack on the Windows XP and 7 with great results (deleted files, formatted partitions, etc.) Good luck.

Yes its possible as long as you don't use the CF card after you format it! I did this in my previous wedding job and lucky I was able to retrieve almost all of it.

I used SanDisk RescuePro that came with the CF card that I bought. Good luck!

Depending on the model line, your Kingston card may have come with a complementary license for MediaRECOVER. If you still have the box and/or documentation I would check it for more information.

You can also try the freeware Recuva application (http://www.piriform.com/recuva) by the developers of CCleaner.
