Is there any way to eliminate or reduce moiring of a clip in Vegas? I need to lower the detail setting on my HD cam to prevent this in the future, but I have some clips already done that exhibit moiring and can't be re-shot.

There are some things. First, you might try turning on "Reduce Interlace Flicker". Then you can add a slight blur to the clip if you need more. Depending on the final destination, rendering as progressive might help.

Try a small amount of Gaussian Blur.
Adjust Horizontal to 0.0
Adjust Vertical at 0.001 to 0.003

Out of curiosity, which suggestion did the trick?

The gaussian blur seemed to be the way to go with this. I used the settings you suggested with .003 for the vertical. I also did change the reduce interlace flicker setting as Ed suggested, but it did not seem to have much of an effect if any that I could see. There was some minor loss in quality but the clip is much more usable than before -- the moiring was very obvious. I was using an EX1R with the factory default settings. I need to use a profile with the detail setting reduced which I intend to do in the next day or two. I have one that a friend provided me with so I'll try it for now. There are several available here on the forum. This forum has been a GREAT source of help and information. Thanks again, guys!

Thanks for the update Tom.
It will come in handy if someone is searching for a solution in the future.
