I recently had some footage of various formats (reels, VHS tapes, and DVDs) up-converted to 1920 x 1080 for an HD project I'm working on. I was told the process used to up-convert was Teranex - Flexview to 1920 x 1080 and the final file was a ProRes 422 mov file. Everything looks great quality wise except that there are black lines, specks, or artifacts in most white areas of the footage. I asked the company and they are looking into it, but I wanted to see if anyone on here has ever run into this problem.

Here is an example. This does NOT just happen on text, it happens on most white areas of the footage:

Black spots? Are you sure there are black spots in your cleavage - err, footage? Can't say I noticed them - at least until the 5th ot 6th time through! :<)

(Sorry)

The test cleavage ... I mean test footage was a bit short. Do you have a much longer clip for me to examine properly?

I think the company can fix it, I will post what they did if it works out.
