Maybe this isn't the right forum for the question, but perhaps someone could direct me to one.

Here's my situation. I'm the faculty advisor for a student run university television station. We are looking for a way to stream live decent quality (close to VHS or better) standard definition video over the internet and the campus LAN. We don't want to put this on the web (we might eventually) but rather just get it back to master control to go out live.

We tried using the free version of Skype, which isn't bad, but we could tell it wasn't going to be good enough. The quality doesn't have to be great -- if it's a little below VHS quality that's okay.

So I'm wondering what we need; if there's some software out there that does that. We could spend a few hundred bucks, but right now we can't afford a wireless system.

Thanks

Might as well give Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/) or similar services a go.

Not too sure about pulling off a signal at the other end for feeding in to the master control gear, though.
