I'm normally a FCP user, but have just downloaded the trial version of PPRO CS5 and i've got my first problem!!!
I've captured my footage from an XL2 camera which was set to 50i frame rate and 16:9 aspect ratio. The settings in PPRO are DV-Pal anamorphic. All the footage is now in the project window, however the clips video size changes randomly throughout, for instance the first ten clips show a video size of 720 x 576 then the next one will show 1049 x 576 then 720 again for a few clips then 1049 for one then back to 720 and so on. The camera settings never changed throughout the shoot,

Can anyone help please. The final output needs to be 16:9.
Have I set something wrong in the settings, although I would expect all the clips to be wrong if that were the case? Any help appreciated.

I'd have brought the video in as simple DV-widescreen myself. I've never actually used the anamorphic preset - but I seem to remember that there was some mention about the software misinterpreting the frame. If you use the widescreen preset, it's will still be the 720 x 576 frame size, but in the wide screen format. I don't know the camera, so I'm not sure if it is inserting the widescreen flag or not - which might be the cause?

Thanks Paul, my mistake, it is just the widescreen setting (it's FCP what calls it anomorphic).

I've just gone through the property viewer in Quicktime looking at the individual clips which have been effected. Some clips have been imported at 1048 x 576 and others at 720 x 576.
It's totally beating me, all the clips were recorded in the same session, no changes made to the camera. When you play the clips back in the camera everything looks fine as normal, but for some reason ppro is resizing the clips at will.I'm going to try another tape from a different job and see what that does.

Well i've just tried a tape from another job and exactly the same things happen. Just tried the same tapes into FCP and no problems at all. I wonder if anyone else is having similar problems trying to capture from the XL2?

The XL2 capture widescreen as anamorfic.
Check the footage for Interprete footage in the Project Window.
Set every clip to widescreen.
This can be done in one go just select all the clips and interprete the footage.
