View Full Version : Broken FCP RT playback?

Hi,

I installed Neo Player, but can't get Cineform media to play out over my Kona 3.
When I turn off external video sometimes it works fine, if I switch away and back to FCP and hit play I might get pink & green stripes instead of picture, or an upside-down half-frame in pink tint upon pausing.
This mostly happens with .mov files, not with AVIs.

With external video on, what always plays out is 1st frame of the video, 2nd frame green, 3rd frame from the beginning of the clip, repeat. (So the result when playing back is pretty epilepsy-inducing).

Non cineform media plays fine.

Importantly, I can't enable FCP RT Playback in Cineform's prefs pane - it's grayed out.

Stats:
Neo HD 5.0.8.135-15 (the prefs pane says it's 5.0.8.134, interesting)
FCP 7.0.3
Quicktime 7.6.6
Media is CFHD-422 at 1280x720p 23.976p.
Sequence set to 1280x720 23.98, compressor=CineForm HD/2K/4K.
OSX 10.5.8
Mac Pro 8-core 3GHz, 16GB RAM

Thanks!

You need the latest build, as the RT enabler had to change for the release of FCP 7.0.3. Download from cineform.com

Thank you for the quick and personal response, David.

I removed the old NeoPlayer with the uninstall app, restarted, installed 5.0.20.b150, restarted. The Enable RT option is still grayed out.

It was also gray before I updated FCP and QT.
