What's the most pain free way to move a large project from one computer to another? This project has assets all in one main folder, but nested inside many other sub (sub-sub) folders.

Right now it's asking me to redirect the location of each individual file. There's over 1000 of them which makes it tough.

Is there any easy way to tell Premiere to just look for them at (for example) E:\Skydive\ instead of C:\Skydive\
?

If all of your clips were grouped together and you just moved the folder, them Premiere should ask where the first clip is when you open the project. Point to it in the new location, and Premiere should automatically load the rest of the clips as well. This only works if all of your footage is in the same folder.

That's the key:
When you move the clips from E:\ to C:\ (or whatever), you have to keep the subfolders and structure the same, then PPro should find everything once you show it the first clip.
There may be another way to do this as a batch, but I doubt it.

the simplest way is to use project manager and choose collect files and copy to new location

That's perfect!
I always use the project manager for archiving the finished project, but it would certainly serve this purpose very efficiently.

Hi All,
I think we all get put into the situation of having to move our project and media from one computer to another at some point. Advice from this thread should help those in that predicament. There are a number of other options that users may want to take a look at, though. Check out the following page from Premiere Pro CS5 Help for the full story:
