I can't for the life of me remember who posted making a cheap should rig with the Manfrotto Shoulder Brace and a Camera grip like this.

Not bad for $24.95 for the brace and $9 bucks for cam-grip.

The only "weakness" is the camera can still pivot.

I used this set up... works good and extremly cheap. I'm working on a rod system and matte box with this shoulder rig.
