On my desktop PC, all I see is the .veg file
The editing is already finished. Since my desktop can't render this 10-minute project (not sure why, since I've done a few other longer renders with the same type of footage), I want to move this project to my Win 7, core i7 laptop and try it there. Where is the actual edited footage that I can transfer to the laptop?

Thanks,

If you go to 'Save As...', there should be a 'Copy media with project' option at the bottom.

Assuming all the source media are/is available, I think that's what you need. I've not used it myself, but my assumption is you will have one directory that you can then copy around as needed.

Your .veg file is like a set of instructions, telling Vegas what is to be done with your original footage, when a render is performed. So if you are transferring your project to another computer, any original footage you are working with has to go with the .veg file. When you actually open the .veg file on the new computer, you may also have to locate the footage for Vegas.

What has been said is all you need, but allow me to add a thing or two for you Norris.

The "edited footage" you speak of doesn't exist separately from your original footage.

Copy your original footage to an external hard drive along with the .veg file and then hook up the hard drive to your 2nd computer. When you click on the veg file you might be asked where the footage is, but other than that it should be fine.

do remember it only copies clips on the time line and not whats in the media folder (unless there on the TL)
