Who's ultimately responsible for scheduling pre wedding videos? I have a few coming up with some clients who haven't gotten back with me with their availability. My fear is that they will wait until the last minute when I'm booked on another gig. Has anyone been in this situation before?

You are responsible if you want the job, your customers are responsible if they want the video :)

Im not a great salesperson, but you notice those who are will make sure they get in touch with potential customers, by calling them up and stuff.

On a similar note, I got called for quotas etc for a wedding video sometime last january (wedding in september 2010). They got some samples, and wanted to see a full video.

So I arranged for one to be sent (around february), and I didnt hear back from them.. until late july, when he suddenly called to say they had moved the september wedding one week. I was a bit surprised. Anyway I was free the date he was moving the wedding 'to', so I just played along. Making sure we had a verbal agreement of price, time and date. Turned out to be a great guy and fun wedding, so glad it got sorted out.

And there is the issue. Do you have an agreement or not ? some people think you have one, even just after asking for quota. Some people will not call back to say 'changed our minds', and some just take it for granted you will sit by your phone, ready to leap into action with 10 mins notice when they are ready.

Always tricky. I'd try to call them and leave a message.
