There's a shot i need...and i think FX might be the answer.

The camera will be pointing directly at the windscreen of a car from the bonnet. You won't be able to see the side windows... but i want someone to smash them both in at the same time.

I don't really want to do it for real... is it possible to do it convincingly with FX and compositing?

I would really appreciate some help if anyone has any ideas..

Thanks guys.

Don't know but try checking at a junk yard .. you might get a shot at it .. and they might want some cash.

Cheers.

Absolutely, and for free, with Blender. Andrew Price over at Blender Guru has at tutorial at Create a Shattered Glass Title Animation | Blender Compositing | Blender Guru (http://www.blenderguru.com/create-a-shattered-glass-title-animation/) that should put you on the right track.

Thanks everyone... much appreciated.

The junk yard won't work though...it's a specific car..a brand new 5 series BMW. (which i don't really want to have to replace windows on) I think the FX route is best... although i'm thinking of mixing FX with sugar glass replacement windows...bit of both..??

Ha! you won't find many brand new 5 series in junk yards Sean, a few owners maybe but not their cars.

Have a smashing time.

Cheers.
