View Full Version : Encoding to WMV High Def from Final Cut 5 Kyle Fasanella August 8th, 2005, 11:35 AM Hey guys I am looking to encode to WMV HD from final cut. I used to do this by encoding the video into an AVI in codex DV/DVCPRO NTSC. That file compression makes a perfect quality DV that I can bring into WME and encode to what I wish. The problem is I need to do this in HD now. I have a PC and Mac networked. What do you guys recommend? Only problem is it costs $179 while the Windows media encoder is a free download. Kyle Fasanella August 9th, 2005, 10:46 PM I need to know exactly what type of settings! Even that guys doesn't give them and is very vague!I need to knowhow to make a AVI my .mov only we play audio in windows media encoder. At the bottom he goes into a detailed description of all of the settings and what they mean. If that doesn't help you, I don't think there's anything else that could. Perhaps if you post details about your project and the reasons you want to encode HD WMV I may be able to offer more substantial assistance. Otherwise, you're probably SOL. What do you guys recommend? how are you going to make wmv hd from dv-sourced materal? dv is not hd-resolution... are you saying that you have, say, some hdv-sourced material that you will be using?
