Hello all

I am a pdw-700 user currently using Doug Jensons picture settings. I am happy with the images from the camera but would like to boost the colour and saturation of the image a little - can anyone recommend the best way of doing this within the paint settings please?

Many thanks

Sparky

Turn off the preset matrix, turn on the user matrix and increase all the vectors (G-B etc) by the same amount. This will increase the saturation. Try +30 for starters.

You can leave the preset matrix on, but the increase in saturation of the user matrix will interact with the preset matrix, so you might see some small hue shifts.

indeed, this is one of the little drawbacks with PDW700/800 - there is no single saturation paramter to boost or lower overall saturation.

My experience is to keep colors a bit flat. Why?

I found myself quite often exceeding primary colours - like the red channel (faces, when clouds wipe away and color temperature rises and pic gets brighter) that easily cuts off at 100% if you dont iris against it. very ugly with faces (get blown to orange flat color) or bright green grass.

In my setting (from other main settings than Dougs) I lowered the overall saturation (in each multimatrix slices) and found extrem situations get better handled. Instead I boost saturation in post.
