I received an email from a company, and they are selling adobe software downloads for 80% off. Have anyone ever heard of this company? I want the CS5 production suite, but am skeptical about them. I read their FAQ's and there us an 800 number to contact them.

I am not advertising for them, by posting this link. Just hoping someone can tell me if this is a legitimate adobe approved offer. Maybe Kevin, from adobe can chime in?

Apple-Downloads::Download Apple Mac Software & Windows Software (http://apple-downloads.com/shop/item/adobe_creative_suite_5_production_premium_mac/)

Thanks for any advice,
Jeff

NO - this is a fake scam site which at best is selling pirated software and at worst will clone your credit card.

I've had several similar e-mails today.

The old adage goes .... if it looks too good to be true - it is!

It's certainly a good looking, busy site - but the prices are just wrong!

Cubase version 5 is available for download at $100 - BUT this programme comes with a dongle - although you can download a trial, without the dongle - it won't work. An empty dongle, if you buy one, is over half the price for the complete thing, so it simply can't be legit. I know how much I paid for Adobe and Steinberg products, and this is just daft!

All the products are just too cheap - and some are quite old versions, too.

I've received the same offer too.

If it looks too good to be true (which it does) it has to be a scam. What other motive explains selling as cheaply as this?

I too received the email ... and promptly deleted it. It's definitely a scam.

Thanks guys, I figured it was a scam. At first I was so excited, I actually added it into a shopping cart. Then I started 2nd guessing. Went to their FAQ page, and looked around the site, and then posted here.

I've seen some sales on eBay, but I'm skeptical about buying software from their also.

My rule of thumb re high end software and hardware is that if it is being offered at more than 10%-15% less than reputable vendors like B&H, etc., you better really watch out. The likelihood that it is, at worst an outright scam, or at best that there will be all sorts of problems with purchase and delivery, is very, very high.
