Hi all,

I could not find a vinten vision 3 tripod system for my XL2 that can go to a minimum height of 15-30 cm. for all those low angle shots. I do birds photography. My question is whether the vinten vision 3 fluid head can go on top of any tripod system and still keeps the superb balance that the vinten vision 3 full system is so famous of?
If any of you can recommend on a sturdy and heavy tripod that can go down to almost ground level I would really appreciate it.

Thank you all for the support in this wonderful site!

Look at the Sachtler DA-100K. It's minimum height is 18cm and has a 100mm bowl. The cost is $830.00 (US).

Wow, that stachler is cool . . . and for that money it should be.

Are you planning on being able to do a lot of smooth panning?
For some lock off shots I use a sand bag.

Speaking of pricey, at NAB, PS Technik had a really cool thing.

The skater.

It has settings for locking its wheels so that it can
turn in anything from tight circle to a larger circle of
your choice. It is very smooth and solid as a rock.
I thought, this will work great as a 'back country' dolly.

I want one! "How much?"

$6,000 US!!!!!
