Has anyone yet been able to source a hood for the LCD finder for this camera, to help in strong sunlight?

I've been using the Hoodman one designed for 4inch screens. It's just a little too small for the XF's large screen, but it does the job if you don't mind a 1/4 inch on the left or right being exposed.

I bought the hoodman too since it was a recommended accessory on the BH site but once I got it realized it's not the right size. BH refunded my money but couldn't offer a solution as it doesn't exist yet. I have since made my own. Much cheaper And works perfectly!

Hoodman makes what they call a Riser. It's an extension that fits onto the end of the Hoodman loupe so that it covers the entire LCD. I got it for an old Hoodman I had lying around. Also got the Cinema Strap to attach the whole thing to the LCD.

Problem solved: Hoodman make the 450 model which is a perfect fit for the 300/305.

Mine has got the logo on the top. However, it is the 450.
There is no cutoff of the screen whatsoever, so there's no danger of missing anything.

I couldn't find one Nigel, but then, this 450 might be a new model so someone over here might be supplying them.
Mind you, even if they do sell them here, what's the betting that the price in dollars will just be transposed to sterling! In the end, it might be just as cheap to order from the States - and the post and packing is next to nothing with its weight...

They don't show the Hoodman 450 on their list - that's the one you need, no matter what they say about the 400 being suitable for 3.5 to 4 inch screens.

You could try giving them a call, perhaps they haven't updated the site.
