Hi all

just a few questions, i was wondering what the most suitable all round lens would be suitable for documentary making, mainly interviews and cut away shots?

You could also pick up a few vintage manual prime lenses.
They are a lot cheaper and they get the job done nicely.
I have a Helios 58mm f2, nikkor 24 f2, zenitar 16mm f2.8 fisheye and I'm pretty happy with them.
I will also buy an "all perpose" lens: the Tamron 18-270mm that I can use in desent lighted places.

Regards.

Sigma 24-70mm 2.8

I have that lens and it is pretty good, the lens I use most. Not the cheapest of lens but is probably best lens I own.

I'm really pleased with it. It's a great walk around lens for pictures on both the 5D and the 60D. I have several Canon primes, but I get sick of changing lenses, so this lens has been my favorite.

I've been very happy with the sigma 17-70 2.8-4. For me the added range is more important than the constant f stop.
