Hi guys,

got into to DSLR video. I have the EOS 550d T2I. I have the 18-55 lens kit lens and the EFS 55-250mm kit lens. I have ordered a 50mm prime lens as well for close up and the DOF you get with it. Whats a good zoom lens that doesn't darken the exposure when zooming in?

Can anyone recommend some lenses that are good for video? The zoom lens is important as i dont want the exposure to darken as i zoom in. Any help is great thanks

17-55, 24-70, 24-105 and 70-200 are popular for fixed aperture zooms and avialable from multiple manufacturers (Canon, Sigma, Tokina and Tamron) in F2.8 and F4 apertures. Which manfucture one to go for really comes down to budget vs quality.

Try the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 - great walk around lens. The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8wide angle is also a fav with Canon T2 owners.

The Tokina review:

One quick word of caution - neither of these lenses will work on full frame cameras, like the Mark II, if you were thinking about upgrading cams in the future.

But they work just fine of the T2/7D.
