It seems like the three Sony kit lenses should work on other PL mount cameras. I mean a PL mount is a PL mount, right?

Well maybe not. I've heard and read a few comments that the kit lenses actually aren't universal.

Yet I've also read that they do/should work on other cameras.

So if anyone KNOWS the answer to this ?, please authoritatively post. I know they should work w/ other PL mount cameras, but do they?

Thanks much!

The Sony PL lenses fit most other PL mounts but not all. I don't know whether this was a simple design error or deliberate but they can be a very tight fit on a Red One and I know of people shaving bits of plastic of the back of the Sony PL's when fitting them to other cameras.

You need to be careful if you plan to use these PL mount lens on a film camera.

Digital PL mount lenses don't need to clear a shutter, so there's a number of the purely digital use lenses where the rear element won't clear the film camera shutter. There's jig that allows people to check if the rotating shutter will strike the lens. Of course, this would also apply to digital cameras that have an optical V/F.
