Hello everyone

We've just a cut a new showreel - in 3D! You can see the 2D version on Red Star 3D :: fantastic animation and CGI effects (http://www.redstar3D.com)

I am looking for any site that would like to host the reel free of charge. We'll have it on 3DVisionLive.com fairly soon. Are there any other sites out there that folks use to download 3D clips?

thanks!

Both youtube and vimeo have 3D hosting - youtube3D is free, you may have to upgrade membership on vimeo for 3D

That reminds me it's time I uploaded all my stuff up there...

Good call Neil.

Can you actually watch 3D YouTube/Vimeo content on a proper 3D system (e.g. 3D Vision) or is it still anaglyph etc?

thanks!

no you can set tags that tell youtube the video is 3D and also what sort of 3D, anaglyph, side by side etc.

Go full screen when you play either directly on a 3D monitor or go out via HDMI to an external 3D TV.

For example I'm fond of the LG passive 3D TV which uses very cheap polarised glasses (I bought a box of 40 for about the same number of £'s), so from my iMac I have a mini-displayport-to-HDMI convertor (a few dollars) and then a normal HDMI cable to the TV. I use this setup for editing using FCS 7 and Tim Dashwoods Stereo 3D toolbox plugin - works a treat.

Whole bunch of passive 3D monitors coming out soon from LG, Mistubishi and others in the next few months, 21-25 inches, priced at a few hundred dollars, so keep an eye out - no active shutter glasses needed and very cheap.

Check this thread out, though, some issues with 3DVision (I don't use it so can't comment)

Thanks Neil. Are you *sure* Vimeo supports 3D? I can't see any mention of it anywhere...

www.studio3D.tv and 3DF33D | WebGL stereoscopic video, photos and applications | 3DFEED | Beta (http://www.3Df33d.tv) are the two I use (besides YT).

It's at The Stereo 3D Channel on Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/channels/stereoscopy)

And what Pavel said :)

Guys

Thanks very much for your help. Looks like Vimeo doesn't really *support* 3D, it just lets you upload an anaglyph; unless I'm missing something.

We put the reel on YouTube already:- YouTube - Red Star 3D Showreel 2011 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ifrE52Mqao)
