I currently have x2 2TB HD's Mirrored, which just in a simple answer replicates the first hard drive, so if one dies, you dont lose your data, just stick another HD into it, replacing the one that died.

I was wondering if there is an option in the i7 board to disable the mirror somehow, as I just want to use the second HD as storage now, if I un-install the mirrored software, upon start-up of PC, 2 HD's are detected in bios information on loading but when in desktop, only the one HD shows.

I am backing up on an external system now, why I don't need the Mirror set-up any more and want to revert back to normal.

Was asking here first before I take it to shop and get them to change it.

Cheers

You'll have to initialize the former mirrored HDD.
Right click "my computer", "Manage" , "Disk Management".

Scroll down the list until you find a drive with no letter assigned to it. Make a partition and re-format the drive, violá! You should now have a fully working second HDD.

Good luck!

Did you use the Intel software to make the Raid 1 or Windows? The problem with the Intel software is that it will delete the partition info when deleting the Raid array.
