I'm thinking about buying an EX1 from someone on ebay, and they have not advertised how many hours are logged on the camera. When I asked how long this was the response:
"....Hi, about 200 hours I think,....but remember that the camera logs hours by just being on and when in use there is nothing that is being used. There is no tape or motor or tape deck to go bad, it is just solid state, so the hour meter is essentially meaningless. You can have a cam with 50 hours that is in beat up condition and a cam with 1000 hours in great condition."
Not sure if what he is saying is true. I wouldn't have thought it would have been too difficult to give me a reading from the camera. Seems genuine enough but should I be concerned that I'm being fobbed off with a poor excuse?
thanks
