Alrighty guys and gals.
What went well, what did not go exactly as planned...

Anyone been out shooting yet?
Here I got a few seconds worth using last weekend. Hopefully I can get some more the next couple days.
But a story? Hmm, maybe I need to come up with one soon..

Good luck everyone!

I've just got a new camera... so you never know, I might be able to join in.

It was kinda hard for me to join in before, as I didn't know if I'd have a camera or not. And an UWOL MP3 file just doesn't cut it!

Congratulations with the new camera.
Which one did you get? I look forward to see what you can do with it.

Hi Trond,

I got the Sony NX70. I finally have a waterproof camera, ideal for rainy life here in Ireland!

Very nice camera! Wish my camera was waterproof too. We got tons of rain over here lately. Floodings and several land slides make it a bit challenging to travel around half the country.
Well, at least it isn't snowing. Haha
Batteries are recharged and hopefully I find some colors tomorrow.

I got a little footage today just close by. The theme sounds so easy until I think about trying to make it interesting to watch! :)

Lorinda, you are sooo right about easy being not so easy after all.
I was out in my boat today. Filming was not easy, even though the water was almost flat. A bit shaky footage to be honest. But colorful it was. :)

Good evening,

Ahhh, how true, making it interesting and having it have as Matt says, "high production value" is a whole different kettle of fish!!

I have a lot of footage, getting more every week, keeping it interesting will be the trick!!!

trying to come up with a story line will be the next step I reckon.

Have plans to shoot tomarrow morning, hope the weather holds up, today was actually nice and I was to busy to shoot anything!!!!

And this seems to be the challenge with my colors. My two first edits are stored in the trash, for never to be seen again.
Third time makes it right... I hope.

Tronde,

How is going with the presets?? New cameras always taking some sorting out to get the best out of them!!!!

I am having trouble narrowing the thing down so it will be a three minute show, and then giving it some sort of theme too!!

Dale,
So far I am using a preset based on the settings you gave me. That looks pretty natural. Haven't really had so much time to experiment with it yet. But I find it a lot easier to color correct the footage from the XF300 compared to the XM2. (not that I have needed to correct anything yet)

My entry is about 2,5min, but it's a challenge to make a story out of it.

It's a wrap! (I think). At least it is colorful :)

How's everyone doing? Hope you all do well!
I'm looking forward to see everyone's films.

Nearly done. Battling with finalizing my story, but it is also pretty colourful if nothing else!

So glad you gave us a month for this Trond - finding time to do these challenges in three weeks is a mission when you work.

Hi Marj, good to hear you are almost done. Seems like I'm not the only one battling to make a good story out of it. The theme was much harder than I thought it would be. My story isn't much of a story... it's more visuals.

I agree, the month was needed. Of my available days for filming, I had almost 2 days without rain...
3 weeks can be tough, so it is nice to sometimes have more time available.

Apologies Trond - I started uploading to Vimeo in plenty of time last night - even allowing for the fact that our area is experiencing very slooow internet at the moment. Unfortunately it did not upload - I got this message from Vimeo:

"Something went wrong!
Uh-oh, looks like an error occurred transferring your video to our servers, we're sorry for the trouble. Please try uploading again. If that doesn't work, check the Help Forum. Don't worry your quota is not affected."

I guess it was just too slow. I will upload it from my son's computer this evening when he gets back from work.

Marj, I have got a couple of those errors myself in the past. No clue why it happens.
Usually I have been able to successfully upload again after a short while.
Just post your feedback thread when you have succeeded the uploading.
