I received some HDV files from someone who used a mac, I believe they are HDV, I know they are HD
They will play in VLC, but not in Quicktime player. They don't import into Premiere cs5 or AE cs5

I wanted to convert them to Cineform using NEO, but that does not work either.

How can I get these to open in Quicktime, and Or How can I get them to convert to Cineform?

I downloaded a k-light codec pack also

THANKS

seems that are not HDV file...
HDV is an Mpeg2 file, that is playable from quicktime PC without special addition, idem from premiere.
Seems that it's converted in some other codec, if VLC read it, go in info and check what kind of codec use this file.

VLC will convert/save files, but it's not a simple interface to use.

Never install the K light codec pack if you want to mess up your system while working with Adobe software.
Only install a codec (not the pack) when you realy realy need it. Premiere has all you need.
If Premiere cant read the file convert to something Premiere does know how to read.
The only way to get rid of the pack is to reinstall windows.
