Don't install 10.6.8 to update the OS - it breaks the nVidia GPU acceleration for Premiere at this point.

There is a new nVidia driver for the Quadro 4000 for the Mac and 10.6.8 - but it does not fix it for Premiere CS5 and 5.5.

Seems like Apple broke it's competitor. The new nVidia driver fixed FCP7 and FCP X with their new 10.6.8, but mysteriously it screws up Premiere. Hmmm

The less Apple can do to p!$$ everyone off at this point the better. It should be humble pie, breakfast lunch and dinner and this type of developmental 'oversight' is not going to do them any good at all.

Let's see if anyone else is reporting similar issues.

This problem has been confirmed by both Adobe and nVidia - both are working to fix what 10.6.8 has done.

A Google search of "10.6.8 nVidia" will confirm the problem but no solution as of yet.

Yep. We've been in communication with Nvidia this morning about this.

Here's the thread where we're tracking the issue (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3761931). It points to a thread where Nvidia is taking feedback, too.

The update seems to break a lot of things, including Davinci Resolve.

NVIDIA DRIVERS 4.0.19 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-cuda-4.0.19-driver.html)

The fix is located here.

It restores GPU acceleration in Premiere with 10.6.8 and the lates nVidia graphics card driver.

Thanks to all for the quick fix and effort!
