Not sure if this is a CF or Adobe error, but I've been googling and googling and can't solve it.

I can't open my projects that contain cineform files.

I'm on CS5.5, NeoScene for Mac, latest version, updated from the blue box thing at the top. OSX 10.6.7

When it tries to open a project that contains CF files, it gives me the error:

"The project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."

My edits aren't openable!!! Help

I think I fixed it! Pulled an all nighter with the internet last night and finally just decided to try to fix it manually. Wanted to post how, in case other people have this problem.

Open the project file in question in textedit, dreamweaver, or something that can do text or XML files.

the .prproj is essentially just a big xml file.

do find & replace and change all instances of “I-Frame Only MPEG.epr” to "QuickTime.epr". It found like ten in my file but i think it depends how many sequences you have.

Opens right up!

As far as what causes it.... i don't know. But I found a lot of sequence preset files in the package contents. Things like Digital SLR and XDCAM EX that don't show up in my preview window. How can I make them show up? They are .sqpreset and there are cineform ones in there too.

Ben,
I had a problem like that once with CS5 when I went from a demo version to the full paid version. All the the HD presets that are left out of the demo version did not install in the paid version. Got the same messages. I believe either Adobe or CF told me how to quick fix it. Sorry that's all I remember, it was a year ago.
