I recently bought a Sony HDR CX160 and shot my video in 1920x1080 60p and wanted to edit it preserving the 60fps; however my Vegas 9 seems to recognize the format, but doesn't offer an option to burn a Blu-ray image at that resolution. I am considering upgrading to Vegas 10 while there is a small break in price, 10% till the end of June, but would like some assuarance that it will process the 60fps output.

Any advice about whether the small discount for Vegas 10 is worth it is appreciated. I do hope to do some 3D editing but that is a few months down the road, will Sony offer a better deal shortly? Also should I expect a performance hit going from 9 to 10? I have 4GB ram and it is a 2.4ghz quad processor, does OK with creating a Blu-ray but authoring, but can take 8-12 hours easily.

Performance seemed to be better for me in 10 vs. 9, especially with AVCHD... unfortunately I don't have a 60p camera yet...

Let's see if Ron Evans shows up, he should have an answer...

Thanks for your feedback about performance. I discovered that I bought Vegas 10 late last year, just hadn't activated it and once I found my serial number I was able to activate it. However when I tried to update to 10.0D it failed but I didn't have time to really investigate what happened. Now that I have a camera again I will get a chance to try out some of the processing ability of Vegas 10. I don't know the Blu-ray spec enough to know if 60FPS is supported or not, I have noticed in the stereoscopic section of this forum it is mentioned that only 24p is supported for stereoscopic which is ulitmately where I want to end up, stereoscopic that is.
