Was wondering if anyone has a shock mount they'd recommend for the shoe on the T2i. Doing some doc work and would love to have the mic up top while walking around. I've got the shock mount for the Rode boom pole, but for some reason, it's loose on top of the T2i, wobbles around. Was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for something that doesn't require a bit of paper underneath to hold it in place. Thanks in advance!

Brian,

I use the Azden SMH-1 on my 60D. It has the unique advantage of being able to be turned around and point "backwards" so a longer mic is much more likely to fit.

(I often use a Rode NTG-2 and it is not visible even when using a 17mm lens. I use the Rode deadcat windscreen which doesn't allow you to move it back to far, either.)

It's a very solid, metal mount with a tight, firm band fit on all of my mics. I take my mics in and out of it all the time and the original bands seem vey solid. (I keep extras handy just in case!)

B&H has it for about $28 with a ton of glowing reviews on their website, too.

Thanks Phil, I appreciate it. Will purchase it and let you know how well it works on the 550D
