I'm trying really hard to make this not seem like sneaky advertising, but this thing seems to be so new there's no info around.

HitFilm.com (http://hitfilm.com/)

So these guys apparently make some sort of FX-movie-in-a-box that comes with all sorts of quite nice looking toys. It seems like sort of an NLE, sort of an After Effects kind of hybrid. I've seen a couple of shorts apparently made with it (like This one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QoNouEfjuo)) and for the price the whole thing seems too good to be true.

I haven't given the demo a try yet. Has anyone else?

Hey, we're professionals. We only do things the hard way. :-P

Kinda looks very interesting, actually.

I bought one of their products, Effects Lab Pro, a few years ago and it worked very well. It had been for a specific project where I needed to create a lot of muzzle blasts, and it was a very intuitive and fast program. It did other things too I seem to remember, but I haven't used it in a long time though.

Looks interesting. AE takes quite a bit to master. So far i do not see any compositing stuff with complexed camera pans but comparing the price to AE i think this is pretty interesting. Will try out the demo
