Hey guys,
Been digging around for a good handheld rig for my Canon 7D. It seems most rigs are either tripod based, shoulder mounted or some (seemingly to me) weird combination of held infront of you with both hands.
I'm looking for something that can help me grip my SLR in a similar fashion to my Canon XF300 (ie, from the top) while still having the ability to have rods, mounting a matte box, follow focus etc on it.

So far the only ones i've found are grips that give you the ability to hold it low, but you can't really attach much to the camera in terms of accessories.

Although a bit pricey, the one that did grab my eye was the RedRock Micro DSLR Cinema: http://www.picturehire.com/images/redrock/Redrock-Cinema-Bundle.gif
In images it looks like it is something you would grab from above and use; however every review I read or watched about it shows it as a tripod setup. Does anyone use this as a handheld rig?
It seems like I might have to build this from scratch, although I personally have no experience with these rigs. If anyone has any ideas on this would be much appreciated.
