I am afraid I am new and out of my depth here, but trying to get to grips with video. I have just filmed a training session for a friend using a Canon 1D4, and Sony HC1 the idea being to cut and mix the two formats. The problem is that I had the HC1 set on DV 720 x 526 25fps 32Khz. (I have done this before with the Sony set to HDV, and the wider pixels meant it cut nicely with the 1080 from the 1D4.)
So unhappy as I was about messing up with the HC1, (I decided to down convert the 1D4 files to match the HC1 files. I don't need high def for the finished product) This is where I find myself conpletely out of my depth. I have tried exporting using H264 and the PAL DV widescreen preset, and while the exported video plays OK outside of Premiere Pro CS5, it looks like a third generation VCR copy when imported to the project with the HC1 files. This has the DV - PAL Widescreen 32Khz preset.
I would more than appreciate any help here. And I used to think that Photoshop was complicated!
