Hey Everyone! I hope you guys are doing great!

I wanted to share our latest highlight film, which was shot in Aspen, Colorado. I used the new Davinci Resolve software to color correct/ grade the entire film. What an incredible piece of software..EXTREMELY fast and very intuitive. I was a bit intimidated just knowing that this is the same software used to grade Hollywood features, but within no time, I was flying around this program like a bandit. I hope to master the program soon and share some quick and dirty color grading tips for videographers looking to go this route. To give you an idea, a 4 minute film that would have easily taken me an hour to grade, was done in 10 minutes. The tracking capabilities in this program knocked me out of my chair. It is INSANE. I hope you guys enjoy!

Hey Ray, I want to see it, but there is something wrong with the embeding, no video, just a placeholder,

Ray, did you also pick up a tangent wave or similar color correction panel? If not, you should check it out. Looks great!

I'm a big fan Ray, great job. Beautiful grade, loved the pace and what a incredible place to have a wedding.

So I'm assuming the hardware needed to run resolve is out of most videographers budgets? The wedding video's on red user I don't think even used resolve for the grade. Does that make your film the first?

Very beautiful, Ray -- and not at all overkill or "recipe" looking. May I ask: what's your editing software that you apply the color to? FCP?

Also: what's your main camera here?

Thanks Tim! Honestly, this was my first crack at Davinci Resolve for grading and I simply did "auto color" on about 80% of the clips..it was so fast. I'm on FCP 7, so the XML in and out is very easy (and quick). My main cam is the Canon 5D Mark II. Thanks again!

Again - love the results -- not at all recipe looking... and quite natural.

So, LAST question: what is the minimum apparatus/purchase requirement you'd need if you had a 2007 Mac Pro with 16 GB memory and FCP 7 (like I do)? Is it just the software or do you need a new graphics card and/or any other apparatus?

Thanks again-
Tim

Very balanced color throughout. I'm taking a look at the software. It has potential, just not sure it's my next purchase. Thanks for sharing.
